Summertime

I am sooo ready for this SUMMER!  I am done with this semester May 30th and have no classes again until August 22nd.  It will be a nice break.  Although I may be working more...things will definitely be less stressful!  Next fall semester I have to take a few more prerequisites required to apply for the nursing program at Gateway Community College.  Something awesome I found out is that they have daycare at the college for only $2.00/hour.  This pretty much saves me because once I start the program, it will be school full time and I won't be working.  I have been enjoying the somewhat decent weather this past week.  I am preparing for the killer heat coming.  Last week Emma and I took about three walks.

Meanwhile, we are preparing for Emma's first dance recital on June 18th.  She is doing the "Teddy Bear Dance."
She has had so much fun these last few months since she started dance class.  She met her best friend Lauren, and I in turn have become good friends with Lauren's mom Christina!  Dance will be over for a couple months after the recital, and Christina and I have thought about putting the girls in swimming lessons together!
David is almost finished re-building his motorcycle.  It looks brand new.  It's friggin sweet!  He also is getting ready to go back to school for IP security.  Something about computer networking...which I know nothing about.  But he is amazing at fixing computers and I know he can do whatever he wants.  Thank heavens for men who can fix things!!! hehe

Hello World!

As I was being born, my mom looked up in the mirror above her.  When she saw a head full of black hair she exclaimed: "It's my Greek baby!" (My mother's grandparents on her Father's side were immigrants from Greece!)  Welp, I feel I have lived up to my "Greekness" so far in life.  I have definitely not been predictable to my parents: Always a free spirit.  The creative one out of my four siblings. I have done some crazy things...although, not exactly smashing plates.  Most of the lessons I have learned in life have been the hard way.  I have no regrets because I have become an extremely strong person because of this.  I have learned to be thankful for the adversity in my life, whether self-inflicted or not.  I know it will always be there no matter how much money or happiness I have.  I truly believe happiness is a CHOICE.  You wake up in the morning and have to choose to smile.  I LOVE LIFE and all it's imperfections and flaws.  It's funny that I am twenty-six years old and just now really starting to make sense of responsibility and consequences that come when choices are not thought through.  My daughter Emma Paige will soon be four years old.  She has definitely been a big inspiration in looking at my life and wanting to change---not who I am inside.  Just no more crazy, Greek, party girl.  Ha.  I met this amazing man named David McKernan about a year ago.  He saw more potential in myself than I did.  He has loved my daughter and I unconditionally.  And I am very thankful for him and the wonderful family he comes from.  David is a lot like me, yet very different.---he would probably want me to include that he is 100% Irish (He is very proud of that).  He makes me smile.  I love him, and that's all I have to say about that!  Right now I am working and going to school to be a nurse.  I know, I know...I put it as my occupation already.  But I think envisioning yourself as what you see yourself becoming helps ensure success in life.  At least if you put in the footwork.  For a long time I would just dream of everything I wanted.  Now I feel like I am making those dreams a reality!
